Turning a Small Design Company into a Worker Owned Co-op
Jono Neiger & Rachel Lindsay
Running a permaculture design business is a challenge. Many people are excited about working with the land, the plants, and creating “eco-sustainable” landscapes. But the work in running a business encompasses bookkeeping, tracking hours, writing proposals and contracts, and coordinating and communicating with collaborators, customers, contractors etc; all requiring a wide range of skills.
In this discussion we’ll explore the startup and business establishment process of Regenerative Design Group, and then the process of transitioning to a worker-owned coop. We might delve into additional startup work with Big River Chestnuts an LLC and the potential of a cooperative processing hub now being explored.Â
