KITZIA KOKOPELMANA

Project Intro

Buena Fortuna Gardens began in 1999 as a vision to transform an abandoned cattle ranch in Baja California Sur into a sanctuary of biodiversity. What started as dry, degraded land has, through decades of dedication, become a thriving botanical reserve and food forest . Founded by Botanist Gabriel Howearth and landscape designer Kitzia Kokopelmana, the project was built step by step — restoring soil fertility, capturing water, planting native and exotic species, and creating a living seed bank. Today, Buena Fortuna is a center for conservation, education, and regenerative culture.
