Regenerative Ranching 101 for Landowners and Land Managers

Do you own or manage rangelands in the Bay Area?

Are you hoping to increase the resilience and productivity of those rangelands?

The San Mateo Resource Conservation District (SMRCD) is excited to host the Regenerative Ranching 101 Educational Series for landowners and rangeland managers.

From August 2024 through April 2025, join us once a month as we gather to visit regenerative ranches across the Bay Area and learn from world-class experts from SMRCD, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), TomKat Ranch, Point Blue Conservation Science, and California Farmlink on how to manage rangelands in a way that is economically and environmentally regenerative.

Regenerative Ranching 101 will teach participants about:

  • Principles and Practices of Regenerative Ranching
  • Adaptive Grazing Planning
  • Water and Fencing
  • Wildlife and Livestock
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Managing Land in a Changing Climate
  • Designing Trials to Expand Understanding
  • Writing Regenerative Grazing Leases
