Permaculture Design Certificate – Calgary

This PDC is where you will receive full Permaculture Certification with in-depth knowledge and hands-on field experience in all areas of Permaculture.

What to expect:
In addition to all of the detailed knowledge on the principles, theories and practices of permaculture, the course also includes the following:

• A FREE pass to The Calgary Permaculture Tour where you will gain first-hand exposure to a variety of permaculture techniques. Click HERE to see last year’s tour!
• Design strategies for any type of property, while keeping visual appeal a high priority
• The methodologies of transforming an energy-consuming space into a flourishing and productive one
• A deep dive into the 12 principles, the ethics, and design philosophies of permaculture​
• Hands-on workshops from beginner to expert (outdoor & Indoor)
• A focus on intelligent earthworks strategies, when working with larger properties
• Emphasis on extending the growing season–especially important in cold-climate permaculture. What are our options for our longer winters?

***Participants will receive a Permaculture Design Certificate upon completion of this course***

This PDC class will consist of 10 days of classes (approximately 8 hours each, with lunch breaks).  Precise dates  and times are as follows: 

Spring 2026 PDC Dates (Full course = two sessions with a 9 day break in between):
April 8 -12

April 22 – 26

Times: Each day of class will start at 9:00 am and run until approximately 4 pm.

Permaculture Tour day (usually on a Saturday or Sunday in July) is included and you will always have a chance to attend another time if you are unable to make this year’s tour.
