Permacultural SOIL BUILDING PRACTICES
Whether you are just getting started, or have been gardening but want to try some new practices, join us and increase your food security!
Great gardens start with great soil. Healthy soil grows resilient plants that are resistant to pests, diseases and drought and can sequester carbon from our atmosphere. However, many farming and gardening practices – even rototilling – are destructive to this ecosystem.
Permaculture practices build new fertile soil, inches at a time. In this workshop, we’ll talk about how to create, nurture and protect this amazing ecosystem with simple techniques such as sheet mulching and hugelkultur, and look at soil test results.
