Introduction

Edmonton Permaculture is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing permaculture education, regenerative land stewardship, and community resilience in Edmonton and across Alberta. Our work focuses on practical, place-based solutions that respond to the realities of northern climates, water scarcity, soil health, and local food security. The organization is led by President Michael Victoria Moore of Genesis Permaculture, a permaculture practitioner, educator, and designer with a strong commitment to ecological regeneration and community-based learning. Under her leadership, Edmonton Permaculture works to make permaculture principles accessible through education, hands-on programs, and partnerships with aligned organizations. Edmonton Permaculture supports initiatives such as Permaculture Design Certification (PDC) programs, workshops, speaker events, and collaborative projects that empower individuals, landowners, and communities to design resilient systems that care for the land and the people who depend on it. Rooted in the ethics of Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share, Edmonton Permaculture serves as a hub for learning, connection, and action—helping to grow regenerative solutions suited to Alberta’s landscapes and communities. The Edmonton Permaculture Guild hosts an annual Intensive Permaculture Design Certification Program at the Change Center, one hour west of Edmonton. This year's program is running from July 19 to August 1st. Accommodation and all meals are included. This year's PDC Instructor is Kenton Zerbin, an internationally renowned Permaculture Teacher with deep roots in Edmonton. The PDC includes 72 hours of instruction as well as hands-on experience in permaculture installations and design. A day trip to one of Alberta's most spectacular Permaculture Farms as well as walks amongst the Aspen groves exploring the diverse nature surrounding the centre. https://edmontonpermacultureguild.ca/permaculture-design-course/
